Brain storm for major project

My idea is about an old and long story of bird journey to getting to their King (god).
story come from 7 to 8 countries ago that it come from a Persian poem man Atar natiabory.
Thousandth of bird one day decide to find their  intent king so they begin a journey from top of the mountain and desert in this journey. In this journey Hoopoe is leader and other bird are following her.
In during the journey bird face to the and all of them die an just thirty of them leave.
At the end Hoopoe offer to other bird to do not be looking for there king because they are aim king (god)them self.
The poem is about understanding of humanity.


I am going to get inspiration form this idea and create a poster. I will photograph from different bird and choose a background by using a DSLR camera.
I will use Photoshop for my project and maybe illustrate.

What did you chose to produce and why? 

Brain storm

(Magic-witch ability- Scare- witch living place-witch behavior-people which have ability of being in connection with a witch. (Witch designing and imagination.)

Initial research

Primary research
In primary research I which it is kind of research you should go and speak with the people face to face, I went to town and I did research. I did this research by going to the round the Nottingham town center by asking to different people about the witch character. I went to the shops witch they sell the magic and fantasy stuffs (witch stuffs).

First I asked from people which were working there and then I phonographs from witch props such as witch hat, a clothe, a scarf, a sock , a neck less and witch make ups stuffs.

I took variety of photos which it related to my fancy character and posted  it into the blog. I got a lot of information I become informed about the witch character by doing primary research.

Secondary research
I did my secondary research in the class by using the internet websites. For this research I tried to a massive research. I researched about male and female character and fantasy designing. 

I researched about a witch history, witch religion, where witch idea originally come from, where a witch live and what eat. What a witch wear, when they appear too human, where a imagination and specially fantasy designing come from.

Who is your target and how have you ensured your piece is appropriate and appealing to them?

My audience for this project were the teenagers students in the college between ages  16 to 19 so for ensure to know my specific target audience I myself to the survey monkey.

I put my questions about target audience, audience’s appeals and other question which related to my character into the survey monkey and commented to the Facebook to get their opinion student.

I got my audience opinion about the character which I suggest to be as my character and then realised who are my target audience.

How did you produce your work?

I first thought about few character (magic fantasy character), by the doing few research I got my character (witch magic character) then I did a brain store about it. I wrote on the paper what I knew and imagine about the witch character.

My first idea was to draw a  magic witch character that  it almost looks like a witch charectertand then put in the Photoshop and designed it so I draw a witch character and on the schates book and I wanted to work on it the Photoshop but I changed my mind. I thought by drawing, it is not going be as a proper witch designing.

I choose a second idea and flowing of that I decided to photograph from a model. I thought I am going to have a better work if I photograph from a model as a character by using the appropriate props which it relates to the a magic character and then I then I make a more fantasy character by using the Photoshop tools.

Primary and secondary researches

By doing the primary and secondary researches I become more interested to make a witchy character. My secondary research helped me to the more know about my character props so I prepared witch props by getting help from teacher. I have mentioned the props which I was using for my character in during the photography for my model this project on the top.

Photography

After the preparing the props for my character and knowing how my character design is going to be looks like, I chose my mode. As my character was supposed to be a witch magic character (male character) I choose one of my classmate for my photography character.

For photography my and my model tried to get the as best as possible photograph we can.

So for first time we went to the dark place in the lowest floor in the college’s building and I took a variety of picture from my model by the witch style by getting the inspiration from my research pictures that I had in my mobile phone which it was not successful photography.

By getting the experience from first time photography and realizing my mistakes In first time which more was from camera setting, I did my second time photography.

For second time I booked the college studio room for photography. I got a lots of picture from my model by the magic which style. I flash lighting in the studio room for photography feature.

Photoshop

For designing my character picture to be as a magic fantasy character to satisfy my audience I prefer to use Photoshop. I put my pictures in the Photoshop and then worked on it by using the different tools.

The tools I used
To doing a proper work I used a variety of tools which include the tools and Technics  I learned in during the photography lessons and what I got from the photography tutorial by the looking from you tube. To designing my character and background I used tools such as lesso tools , magic tool ,brush tool , pencil tool , eraser tool , gradient tool paint bucket tool, pen tool , rectangular , and ellipse tool.

For giving the beauty and artistic dosing I used extra tools ;

• I used image -adjustment by using the  ( levels, black and white , color balance ,Hue/saturated ) and follow options.
• I used filter gallery . I used its options such as Artistic tool , brush struck , distort tool , sketch tool, stylize tool and texture tool.

I used flash lighting in the studio. I used hard light for flash lighting and also fill lights to give soft light on my model face.

How did your work push you improve these skills further?

For doing a higher quality work I regularly tried to get inspiration from YouTube tutorial about how using Photoshop tools for a witch designing so It made me more interested when I learned how to you these tools and have feeling of creativity.

Reflection aim

I am very pleased with this project. I think I have been learning in the last past few weeks a variety of things. I learned a lot about different part of project (photography, Photoshop, doing different researchers primary and secondary, doing survey monkey to get students appeals and ages, I learned how to get people opinion and requisition  about my work (Demographic and Psychologic).

Future

If was going to do the project again I think I am not going to repeat my mistakes. I feel I have experience in the different part project from the start to the end. I would more think about my character, I would more doing researches, I would do a better photography, I would more consider my audience requisition , I would chose a more fantasy character and learn how to use more artistic tools. I would like to try other part of art style like realism and cubism in my work.

Independently work

I pleased to do my work independently.  In during the this project I think I could become able for working independently so I am confident after this project by having experience from this project.

Schedule and proposal

For putting my plan for creating a character by a step by step plan, I was keep watching in my schedule by writing my future plan in it.

I did two proposal for my character when I changed my Idea both helped me to be looking at my proposal as a plan in this project process.

Schedule

What I can see in my schedule is good but I think I should have done a little more orgenise in some parts. I started in first two weeks by getting inspiration for my character and doing initial researches which it was done well in the right time.

I continue to doing the research, secondary research that I think I was a little slow that I completed at the end of third weeks by doing a big research which it included a verity of information about my fantasy character. I add a lot of things in this research like witches pictures make up and related stuffs.

 In during the Christmas I did my primary research that I saved my time. It went well in fourth week after the Christmas holiday because I was already done in it on the right time.

I did my survey monkey in the fourth week as well. I was not familiar with surveys and I got help from tutor. I think I could do it in right time. I got experience for future.

I asked about people ,students) opinions, interest, ages, and gender.

Also I asked about how my work can be nicer for my work expedition (on the frame, on a poster, screen...).

For fifth week it went well. For next time I would more attention to the survey monkey result to effect on my work. It was good.

We visited Harry Potter( WB) studio in this week which I got a lot of experience and magic idea for making my character. In this trip I got a lot of experience about witchy magic characters especially for designing and photography. I think it was really good experience for me to don’t think I know enough about a magic character. It challenged me to do more researches for a charecter.

In the sixth week I was doing preparation  for my character. I collected kind of props which I needed. I was preparing equipment for photography by asking the photography tutor (Mark Epton) . I lent camera (a Canon DSLR) from him. I did my photography in right time in the studio room. I had all of props in right this week so I did the kind of photograph style what I meant to do.  

I watched Harry Potter films from YouTube.

I continue to do my work by getting inspiration from harry potter studios.

Week of eight 

In the last week I (week 8) I think I have been doing think It was suppose to do in my shuldle.
I had enough experience and knowledge as I thought. I had was done my researches in my blog ,I was done my photography by using having a model by using appropriate witch props . I had good understanding to design my character as much as fantasy . I could design my character by Photoshop by using. in the end of  the this project It was easy and interesting to me to work by the Photoshop tools because I had well knowledge about them.
 I was done few other projects with Mark Epton and Owain Davis lessons witch it was  helpful to be ready for doing this project.
I used you tube tutorial a lot so used them for my character designing.

Rowan – It’s really well done and the colours chosen and the setting all works with a witch-type theme, but in my own opinion the purple leaves look out of place.

Kezia ­_ I really like how you edited you work together everything is edited well smoothly nothing looks out of place.

What did you chose to produce and why?

I choose a  magic character because I thought it is interesting ideas to produce a witch character and represent it to the audience for these my audience ages.

I thought this character is more impressed me as a magic and fantasy character ( as a unreal character) I thought this character  personality  is base of magic character by the contest of a fantasy character. 

This character brought back me to my childhood. About stories which I was heard about it, about people experience with it and specially about how witch character looks and how would be design . it was interesting for my to know about character existing and its  power in our real world.
